As an ex-local of over 40 yrs I have seen the Federal go through various stages from fantastic food mediocre and now it's back better than ever! We had a fantastic lunch of delicious burgers. The staff was fantastic. Vincent is doing a great job as licencee. Keep up the good work. We will be back!

Definitely worth a stop. Great sitting out the front on the picnic tables . Gold beer. Plenty of seating. Fantastic looking pub inside and out.

A busy pub for Friday night so a nice relaxed vibe and cosy atmosphere with 2 combustion fires to ward off the winter.

Service here is fantastic. Good manager, staff, food, and most importantly the beer is always icy cold and delicious. Try the on tap alcoholic Ginger Beer. Super refreshing!

Beautiful old pub with great atmosphere. I sat out the front in a sunny spot on a cool winter day. I enjoyed the grilled angus rum asian beef salad with rice noodles. It was a vibrant and delicious meal. Great value for money, and I enjoyed every bit. I can't wait to have it again.

Staying near Alstonville for a holiday and got pizza for dinner. OMG!! What a pizza. I got the meat lovers and partner got the supreme. Lots of flavour. Not over/under cook. One of the best pizzas we’ve ever eaten. 110% highly recommended.

The Fed is a lovely country pub that was bustling on a Friday night. There were still plenty of tables and the outdoor umbrellas kept the light rain off us. There was a good selection of meals and specials and the food came out pretty quickly. The beef burger was very tasty but it definitely could have been hotter. The chips were well seasoned and there was a generous serve. Overall a good pub to visit!

Six years ago I gave 3 stars and wrote; The staff are very friendly. The salt and togaraahi squid was exceptionally nice, as was the accompanying salad. The Ono schnitzel also was really good. Unfortunately the salad had no dressing whatsoever and was quite boring. The tbone was ordered med/rare and was bordering on well done. A bit of a disappointment for a birthday boy. The lamb cutlets were crunchy, but the crumb was really thick, and oily. The cutlet itself, tasteless as was the undressed salad that accompanied both dishes. Chips were nice, but had sat on the plate waiting for the meat to arrive, I think. Beautifully cold, great range of beers on tap. Today, I changed that to 5 stars because of the food i received today and 4 weeks ago. The lamb cutlets i had 4 weeks ago were the best I've ever eaten. Crusty crumb, still blushing and juicy inside and delicious. The chips were crunchy, and the salad wasn't just leaves thrown together, but put together with an abundance of ingredients tastily dressed. The steak sandwich was a quality piece of trimmed rib fillet, cooked perfectly. Today the cutlets were cooked more but also thinner, but still worth the money. My wife had the nachos and her comment," these are the best nachos I've ever eaten." And nachos are a staple she often chooses. In-house made corn chips stayed crisp under the delicious and abundant toppings. Guacamole, sour cream, mince, cheese and salsa. The addition of juicy mung bean sprouts a stroke of deliciousness. Definitely worth the money to eat here. Nothing is skimpy and it arrives quickly.

We love love love the Feddy, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Food is great and generous portions. We love going for smokehouse Sundays with kids eating free on Sunday. They support local sporting clubs and musicians and are investing in a huge renovation to make way for an even better local venue. Cant wait to see what they do with it.

Dropped in for a quick bite on Saturday. Ordered the chicken snitty and fish n chips. Awesome meal- the best chicken snitty I’ve had in a really long time. Brought in daily from @cheerystreetbutchers Ballina. Excellent salad with a decent serving and more than one tomato. Fish and chips were gr8 as well.
